Mayor Bloomberg – long a champion of white roofs – has recently installed a green roof on the Bloomberg Foundation building. His personal house, unable to support a green roof, remains a white roof.
It is always nice to see a leader enact in their personal lives that which they preach publicly. Mayor Bloomberg has always spoken about green initiatives, and has launched a successful GreeNYC program as well as other grants and tax abatements for green building practices.
As a green roofing company – we are very happy to see this idea and see it as just another step in the right direction!

It’s amazing to see how many new projects are using green roof technology. I had no Idea until I started shooting aerials of buildings in Grand Rapids, MI.
