I’ve just spent the last few days at the annual GRHC conference in Chicago where I saw old friends and made many new ones. Folks like Tim Barrett and Michael Berkshire from the City of Chicago were present, and as usual the educational sessions were inspirational and enlightening. Greenroofs continue to cover ‘new ground’ and offer innovative solutions for a range of environmental concerns, from storm water management to energy savings. It is apparent that many both inside and outside of the industry are taking note and focusing on the potential for it to create new jobs and stimulate growth.
For example, featured this week in the Wall Street Journal’s Market Watch is a study by LUX Research that predicts a 70% growth in the global greenroof industry over the next five years, reaching a whopping $7.7 billion by 2017. It comes as no surprise to me (though all of us at Greensulate are certainly delighted) to hear news anticipating such unprecedented growth.
Greensulate is so proud to be part of this fantastic industry. We hope you will contact us soon to learn more about what we are up to, and please, let us know the same about you! Here’s to a billion more square feet of North American green roofs in the next decade! Cheers!
Amy
